EIDE - Association of Designers of the Basque Country

The Association of Designers of the Basque Country (EIDE) was established as a professional association in Bilbao in 1986, with the aim of integrating professional designers from the Basque Country and Navarra. It currently groups industrial and product designers, graphic and digital designers, space designers and service designers. EIDE is member of the Board of the BiDC (Bilbao Bizkaia Design Council), INNOBASQUE (Basque Innovation Agency), READ (Spanish Network of Design Associations) and BEDA (The Bureau of European Design Associations). Its main objectives are: to disseminate and promote the role of design as a strategic factor for innovation and business competitiveness; promoting the design and designers of the Basque Country; to promote the professional practice of design based on criteria of sustainability and social responsibility; foster the interaction of the association in the design of the different curricula, for their adaptation to the present and future reality of the profession; represent, manage and coordinate the common interest of the members and participate in all decision forums of interest to the collective; to foster interaction and exchange among professionals, and to collaborate with other national and international design associations and organizations; and finally, to support young designers in their entry into the labour market.
