For 25 years, IIDA, the commercial interior design association with global reach, has supported design professionals, industry affiliates, educators, students, firms, and their clients through our network of 15,000+ members across 58 countries and 35 local chapters. IIDA advocates for advancements in education, design excellence, legislation, leadership, accreditation, and community outreach to increase the value and understanding of interior design as a profession that enhances business value and positively influences the health and well-being of people’s lives everyday.
IIDA is dedicated to making an impact on the commercial interior design industry and elevating the interior design profession. IIDA members are experts in the field, constantly responding to and making strategic design decisions based on new trends and information about how people occupy, inhabit, and experience the built environment. Their skills and expertise have touched every industry—hospitality, healthcare, retail, technology, education, government, and more—contributing to the overall health, well-being, creativity, innovation, productivity, and happiness of the people who occupy these spaces.
IIDA supports its members with initiatives that highlight the Association’s thought- leadership and industry expertise. Cutting-edge research delves into topics ranging from diversity in the design profession to the economic impact of the industry to the effect of design on employee satisfaction. The Association presents programming at major design events in cities around the United States, the Middle East, Europe, South America, and Asia. IIDA also hosts 13 design competitions annually—a portfolio that ranges from product design to global interior design projects.
As of today, IIDA has received more than 10,000 competition entries representing over 40 countries. Among its many publications, Perspective magazine, the IIDA journal published three times a year, highlights global visionaries and cutting-edge projects, complementing the highly successful What Clients Want series featuring international design projects and emerging design trends.
