"The Making Of”
From traditional craftsmanship to modern design, the Making culture carries great social value which makes significant impact in our daily lives. Characterized by unique skill sets and techniques, long-existing handicraft preserves the beauty of art and tradition in its original ways revealed mainly through the creation of physical objects. In modern design, the process of making often involves sophisticated technology that leads to solutions which satisfy the needs of this fast-growing and challenging world. GDN Symposium 2018 visits the theme of “The Making Of”, with the aim to explore the best of traditional craftsmanship and modern design, and to integrate them harmoniously to create better products and solutions, for the benefit of shaping the development course of the design industry, generating greater social and economic advancement, as well as a better living environment for all.
